Qatar Airways delays Sarajevo launch until 2017

NEWS FLASH

Qatar Airways has postponed the launch of its service between Doha and Sarajevo for a second time. The airline now plans to commence operations on the route in 2017. Initially, flights were to begin on September 7 but were later pushed back to November 2. As of last week, ticket sales have been suspended. In a statement to EX-YU Aviation News, Qatar Airways said, "Unfortunately the start of service will be delayed until 2017 due to a delay in aircraft deliveries that we have on order. We remain committed to this route and will launch it as soon as possible". A new launch date is yet to be set. Earlier, Qatar Airways also delayed the introduction of its Skopje service, initially planned for October 2, until 2017.

If this was an ex-yu airline moving its flights for a third time people would be spitting on it and complaining. They actually sold tickets for months. Feel sorry for the people who made bookings.

True, but small companies cannot make mistakes like big one, because big companies cannot be affected by those mistakes at all, and small companies can kill themselves by just one mistake.

It's really indicative that the SKP flight was the first to get delayed. Flydubai hardly manages to fill their 2 weekly flights. There isn't really a market between SKP and DOH either. This is just an attempt at market penetrative - something TK has done accomplished there too.

Instead of flying 3x weekly to every town in the region, they should try at least to fly daily to their existing destinations.
Or how will they compete with Turkish Airlines who flies double daily ?!
