Bosnia calls for UAE airline investment

NEWS FLASH

The Foreign Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Igor Crndak, has invited the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to invest in the Bosnian aviation sector. Following talks with his UAE counterpart Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Mr Crndak suggested for the country to employ a similar model with an airline in Bosnia as it did with Air Serbia, which is part-owned by Etihad Airways. Furthermore, the two sides agreed there is potential for the UAE to invest in Bosnia's airport infrastructure. Earlier this year, the Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Fadil Novalić, said his government was in talks with Etihad Airways over the future of the country's flag carrier, B&H Airlines, which has since been liquidated. "We held talks with Etihad because we are being responsible towards our company. We are in discussions", the Prime Minister said at the time.

Even better: allow already proven UAE investment in Air Serbia to expand to B&H. Give them AOC in B&H, let them base planes and use crews from B&H. Instant win-win.

Because at least 49.5% of Bosnian population will not want to fly with Air "Serbia" as their home carrier - they would have hardly an issue with "JAT" though
