Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport has been granted a corporate mandate to operate the newly-established Fraport Aviation Academy. This new venture will offer a wide range of courses on protection, rescue and intervention in emergency situations to employees of the Fraport Group and other interested individuals and companies from around the world. The Fraport Aviation Academy will, together with its partners, offer a wide range of skills and knowledge to participants from the entire Fraport Group and other airports from around the globe. The training will be implemented in collaboration with the Protection and Disaster Relief of the Republic of Slovenia, the Faculty of Organisational Sciences in Kranj and Fraport’s Fire Training Centre (FTC). Both basic and advanced training for airport firefighters will be taught at educational centres at Ljubljana and Frankfurt airports by qualified instructors from Ljubljana Airport and other Fraport Group airports. The construction of the new Fire Training Centre at Ljubljana Airport will start during the first half of next year. The new facility, which will be opened in 2018, is valued at 3.9 million euros. More information about the Fraport Aviation Academy is available on its new website.
