Serbia and Iran to conclude air agreement

NEWS FLASH

Serbia and Iran are set to sign a number of trade deals later this month, including an Air Service Agreement, which will regulate traffic between the two nations. Speaking at an event in Tehran jointly promoting Serbian and Slovenian tourism, the First Counsellor at the Serbian Embassy in Iran, Branko Marković, noted that the new air agreement will facilitate for Iran Air to introduce services to Belgrade. The Iranian Chairman for the Committee for Foreign Policy and National Security, Alaeddin Boroujerdi, recently said the country is working towards establishing flights to both Belgrade and Sarajevo. Last year, the Serbian national carrier said it was considering launching operations to Tehran in cooperation with Iran Air, however, it has since backed away from such plans.
