Qatar delays Sarajevo launch until October

NEWS FLASH

Qatar Airways has delayed the launch of its Doha - Sarajevo service for a third time. Flights were to be inaugurated on August 16, however, services are now set to begin on October 31. While no official reason has been given for the latest delay, the route is set to operate four times per week this winter season, each Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, with an Airbus A320 aircraft. Further flight details can be found here. Tickets have been put on sale. Qatar Airways CEO, Akbar Al Baker, said, “Launching flights to Sarajevo is a significant step toward increasing our presence in Eastern Europe, and will provide our passengers with a new and exciting route to and from this remarkable city. It is also tangible proof of our ongoing commitment to expand our global network. Adding Sarajevo to our global network will allow passengers in Bosnia-Herzegovina to connect to more than 150 destinations worldwide through our five-star hub, Hamad International Airport”.

  7. Australia's 'Travel Daily' publication today announced that Qatar Airways has "moved forward" the start of services to SJJ from the 31st October. This was reported to them by local QR offices and is being services 4x a week utilising A320 aircraft. Sabre GDS doesn't show anything live as yet.
