Kuwait’s Jazeera Airways launched seasonal flights between Kuwait City and Tivat over the weekend, attracting a significant number of transfer passengers from Moscow. The Kuwaiti low cost carrier commenced services to Russia earlier this year. Russian tour operator PAKS said, “We have blocks of seats on the new service to Tivat on an exclusive basis. There were no empty seats on the first flight. The reasons for the good demand are obvious: Montenegro is a visa-free beach destination, and the prices for tours from PAKS, thanks to the block program, are the most affordable among all the options currently on the market. We sent our clients to Tivat through Air Serbia and Turkish Airlines. However, the fares on these airlines did not differ much and now they no longer differ in the lowest fare group either. Therefore, demand was quite modest. Now the situation has changed. The block contract with Jazeera Airways allows us to offer Montenegro at a much more affordable price. This had a corresponding effect on demand. A weekly tour package for two at an all-inclusive hotel in Montenegro is 217.416 rubles [2.500 euros] with Jazeera Airways. For comparison, it is 311.241 rubles [3.575 euros] with Air Serbia and 372.400 rubles [4.270 euros] with Turkish Airlines”. Jazeera Airways will maintain services to Tivat until October 5. The Kuwaiti carrier will inaugurate flights to Belgrade on Friday next week. Within the former Yugoslavia, the airline already serves Sarajevo.

ReplyDeletesaving 1000 euro makes it understadable why they choose a longer route with a stop. i wonder if air serbia can streamline to reduce costs for them.
ReplyDeleteI doubt they will. Their flights from Russia are full so they have no need to reduce the price.
DeleteAll their flights have a good % of Russian passengers transfering. I do not think they need to lower the price anytime in the future.

DeleteThat's a lie, no one stops JU to add destinations/frequences. They are actually adding both. The pressure is on government, not JU. Government can't handle the pressure and they're transfering it on JU. And I hear Russians are not fastest to allow extra frequences to JU when needed, unlike to TK.

ReplyDeleteFlew DUS-BOJ with Eurowings last week and half of the plane were Russian speakers.
Guess MNE is also a destination visited by Russians.
That's interesting, considering Russians need a visa to enter Bulgaria
