NEWS FLASH
Air Dolomiti will operate select flights on behalf of Lufthansa between Frankfurt and Ljubljana during the 2026 summer season, starting March 29. The regional carrier will deploy its 108-seat Embraer E190 aircraft and crew to maintain the service. Unlike on the Munich - Ljubljana route, where Air Dolomiti has assumed part of Lufthansa’s operations under its own flight numbers and designator code as of this winter, the Frankfurt - Ljubljana flights will continue to be marketed exclusively under Lufthansa’s code and flight numbers, with Air Dolomiti acting solely as the operating carrier.

I think they'll offload at least one daily flight to them. Especially since crjs are saying goodbye at the end of 2026
ReplyDeleteA few months ago they upgraded their flights to mostly use A320 and A319. Is that gonna be reverted or is AirDolomiti taking over only the flights that weren't scheduled with the A320 family?
ReplyDeleteNo there were always a few AirDolomiti flights, especially on Saturdays
DeleteI just checked it again, Sat/Sun 10am flight is operated by AirDolomiti, everything else by A320/A319 by LH
DeleteThey are taking over flights that were operated with CRJ.
DeleteOkay, thanks. So we are getting a huge increase in capacity next year. Hopefully the loads stay high.
DeleteYes, LH has significantly increased its capacity for Frankfurt, they are still planning CRJs for Munich for now, but they also announced a change to the winter flight schedule with Air Dolomiti quite late.
DeleteThese Air Dolomiti flights to MUC are much more comfortable than the CRJ. I hope they will be in the summer schedule as well.
DeleteThey will not keep CRJs for sure. I expect MUC will be fully migrated to EN, unfortunately.
DeleteI'm more dan happy with EN.
DeleteNothing wrong with EN as operator. Their Embrarers are much more comfortable than CRJs. The negative aspect of EN flying under EN flight number (and not LH wetlease) is that it's not Star Alliance flight any more.
DeleteEN is a member of Star Alliance.

No, it is not. It’s member of Miles and More program, which is limited to Lufthansa group, Croatia Airlines and LOT. It is much less than star alliance.
DeleteAnd Luxair :)
DeleteThat's great news. I don't think many people liked those CRJ's. Does anyone know if we are getting any other routes or increases in LJU for next summer?
ReplyDeleteATH is going to 3x weekly
DeleteMAD is almost the whole summer
KLM additional daily flight
SKP is surely going to 5x weekly
RIX is going 3x weekly
IST is 3x daily for the whole summer 4x weekly

LGW is daily for the whole summer
Waiting for BA, but not sure its happening, LOT too, let's see if BER happens, and then next year we'll have 30 routes in the summer (31 if you count april LPA flights)
Nice, thanks for the overview. LJU really has seen a lot of positive news lately, I hope the trend continues and that Airlines have some more stuff for us in the works.

There is AYT in the works? Where did you get that info?
DeleteNot the OP but I saw Pegasus official account commenting "👀📱👍🏻🗺️" after someone said that next up needs to be Ljubljana - Antalya under Ljubljana announcement.
Deletehttps://www.instagram.com/p/DReMta0Cd_o/
SKP changes to 4x weekly from 14th December until the start of summer season
DeletePretty much 190 scheduled flights in the peak summer...not too bad
DeleteHmm interesting, great observation. It could be just a random comment, but then again, they are a huge company so they are probably aware and cautious of what they are doing. Having AYT as an option with a LCC from LJU would be absolutely amazing and I would definitely use it this coming summer.
Delete@11:00 SKP is already 4x per week since June, so the 3x per week for next summer is just a placeholder, they clearly haven't updated their summer schedule yet for LJU since there is no way they would reduce it again, cause it's doing great.
DeleteI found it interesting, because they usually say something in the lines of "we always are adding new routes, follow us for new route announcements"
DeleteIt's interesting that Pegasus doesn't really offer connecting flights from LJU to Antalya, even tho they fly there like 10 times per day from SAW. Could this be additional confirmation that they are planning to launch direct flights to AYT too? It would be stupid to not offer any connecting flights to their most popular summer destination while they offer connecting flights to other lesser known turkish cities.
DeleteGuys if you seriously think that the the person responding to comments on social media on behalf of the airline knows which routes the airline will launch, you are mistaken. Not to mention that this is usually outsourced.
DeleteInteresting observation...I'm sure TradeAir flying to Antalya 5x weekly didn't go unnoticed
Delete@11:08, I am not saying that they are confirming it, but many companies like to tease new stuff online, so I don't see why they wouldn't, and them not offering connecting flights to Antalya is also another clue, which further cements the possibility of direct flights.a
Delete11:08, as someone who worked with an airline abeit in 2019 on simmilar announcement, I can guarantee you that CM is briefed on what to say in certain scenarios, and if one of them was someone asking for Antalya, you can get a custom reply, even tho the CM doesn't know why
DeleteBravo Fraport!
DeleteAntalya flights would be a hit, that's for sure. @admin do we have any numbers on it? I'm sure TradeAir flies at least twice weekly in the summer
DeleteBy the reports of Slovenian statistical office, there was 17.994 passengers on non-scheduled flights between Slovenia and Turkey last year. This year the number is 12.922 until the end of September.
DeleteSo 2x weekly shouldn't be a problem at all
DeleteZRH 14 weekly SUTT?
DeleteWho else flying besides LX as they operate 12 only
My bad, yes ZRH is 12x weekly for now. Pegasus is looking for Antalya flights, but nothin is 100% yet
DeleteLjubljana guys are yet to add Pegasus logo to their website :D
ReplyDeleteThe LJU webpage is far from what you would expect from a serious airport, but we can still see that they have fixed quite a few incoherencies that have been pointed out on this forum. Maybe we can mention to them that Sabiha is a proper name and therefore should be capitalized.
DeleteThey fixed the press release when someone on here pointed it out, and website only gets updated when they see comments on here.
DeleteTransavia is also listed, even when they discontinued the flgihts, only Transavia France should be listed on the website
Well, to be completely fair Pegasus is now advertising Ljubljana flights on their website's main page as twice-weekly, even though that it is three times per week.
DeleteThat's odd :D
DeleteKrasnja is following comments and reacts accordingly:) thats where he also learnt that airport operator should work on establishing new routes and attracting new operators, however he is still not encouraged to participate in route development events.
DeleteWhen can we expect the second daily to Brussels? :)
ReplyDeleteWhen somebody (PSO) will pay for it.
DeleteThere is no need for second daily to BRU.
DeleteMorning departure is a must, BRU is one day destination for many
DeleteMorning departure yes but no need for twice daily.
DeleteNo need for this, no need for that... the only need is FRA :)
DeleteWhy should anyone operate two daily flights when even a single daily service is not financially sustainable in winter? So the answer to ‘when can we expect the second daily flight to Brussels?’ is simple: when it becomes financially profitable for the operator.
DeleteNight shift at Fraport?
DeleteIt is incredible how many white-collar workers take certain services for granted, especially in EU institutions, placing themselves above other citizens and not considering themselves public servants.
