Even though they'll fight for every % of their business, Air Serbia is definitely not a big deal for them ATM. Where I think people here are coming from is that if in the future JU goes long haul (like they keep suggesting), LH for sure will react. Don’t forget that they make loads of $ on long haul and bleed on short-haul. That’s why they transferred all those hubs to Germanwings, to try to make it profitable with a different business model and cost structure.

The biggest issues for LH these days is (a)how to deal with TK and its enormous growth practically in LH’s backyard and (b) how they deal with big 3 while moving to Germanwings, cutting administrative cost (3000 jobs), new CEO etc. In my opinion they lost the TK battle already, we’ll see about the second one.
SMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17992198326118720912noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5263744212273266286.post-32440513746291032542014-03-13T13:41:05.902+01:002014-03-13T13:41:05.902+01:00Amazing how people get so worked up about a deal, ...Amazing how people get so worked up about a deal, that in the greater scheme of things, is about as significant as a pimple on an elephant's backside. LH has for more important things to worry about than to think about what is happening in Serbia ... they already have relationships with Adria and Croatia - not to mention Swiss, Austrian and LH itself .... why worry about an additional headache such as JU ?? Please, get real and stop overplaying JU's importance in global aviation terms or the importance of Serbia as a market... Unfortunately, in matters like these we are going to have to take their word for it because if nothing else the other side (EY in this case or ZAIC in ZAG) won’t allow it. Or they’ll release the contract but have army of lawyers burry all the important details somewhere else. And trust me on this, this level of transparency rarely exist anywhere, especially not in Western countries. This is very common language in the investment world (which I’m somewhat involved in). If you’d like to start work right away and not wait for the final contract is signed (which sometimes takes long time) you sign initial MoU. In a layman’s terms, I’ll give you money so that we can start doing what we intend to and then if I’m happy with everything (results of due diligence etc.) then we convert my investment into shares and you don’t have to repay the loan. If in any way I’m not happy and would like to bail out, you owe me money. Even in your post you say this if you read it carefully.

Don’t get me wrong, there could be a lot of things in this contract that are damaging for Serbia. Unless you have a complete text including all the addendums nobody knows. This is a first sniff of such an agreement (not even a final version) and there could be a lot of things involved here that they don’t want to disclose. What you are point to is not one of them.
SMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17992198326118720912noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5263744212273266286.post-71831576816499389532014-03-12T18:47:29.239+01:002014-03-12T18:47:29.239+01:00Is it all signed Matt Hesketh? Is it all signed Matt Hesketh?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5263744212273266286.post-3424208380220809682014-03-12T18:46:39.161+01:002014-03-12T18:46:39.161+01:00Iz nase grupe je prosao jedan clan da ga ne imenuj...Iz nase grupe je prosao jedan clan da ga ne imenujem ovde. It’s a common sense (why wouldn’t you spend money in a company you own) but very often that concept is lost in all ex-Yu countries. Before somebody starts trashing me with “they should fly whoever is the cheapest” I have to say I don’t agree. Serbia owns 51%, company pays income taxes (one day hopefully), it employs your people who also pay taxes – no matter how much LH fare (for example) is cheaper they should still use JU.
SMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17992198326118720912noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5263744212273266286.post-73362153193012227742014-03-12T16:09:08.375+01:002014-03-12T16:09:08.375+01:00Dap bas o tim testiranjima :).
