easyJet crew punched on Pristina flight

Wednesday, April 1, 2015

An easyJet flight was forced to make an emergency landing after a passenger punched a stewardess to the floor because he was “waiting too long for a sandwich”. The flight, travelling from Geneva to Pristina yesterday morning, landed in Rome where the man was arrested. Witnesses say the man could be heard shouting “I’ve been waiting for hours, I’m hungry”. Another traveller said, “He shouted at the stewardess, then he stood up and punched her and when she fell to the floor, he carried on hitting her”. Other passengers on board the plane rushed over to restrain the man as the journey was diverted to Fumincino Airport. In a statement the airline said, "easyJet can confirm that flight EZS1483 from Geneva to Pristina on March 31 diverted to Rome as a result of a passenger on board behaving in a disruptive manner. The aircraft was met by the police on arrival in Rome and the passenger was arrested. The safety and wellbeing of passengers and crew is always easyJet's priority. Whilst such incidents are rare we take them very seriously, do not tolerate abusive or threatening behaviour on board and always push for prosecution”.

    1. It is not a April 1 joke. EasyJet confirmed the attack and said its cabin crew member had been injured and her glasses had been broken.

EasyJet service, you choose to fly with LCC, expect shitty service. Can understand passenger in question got really annoyed, still violence is never the answer.

EasyJet must improve on service, clearly they are still lacking in that department.

^ above person. Are you insane, or just stupid? The story is about a VIOLENT ASSAULT and you are blabbering on about EasyJet's service, claiming you can "understand why he did it". What a loser. Get some perspective.

You do not understand. He PAID for food (that sandwich) and did not get it. It is not included in ticket you must pay for it and obviously he did not get it. Kad si gladan nisi svoj....It is s.... LCC.

So, when you pay you, the violent assault is acceptable. Pull your thoughts together! The violent action is simply NOT acceptable!

Wow!??? Who are you ?! I can't believe it... Not one , but two posts justifying violence and actually blaming it on EasyJet. Have you ever flown by commercial airline ?
Are you his lawyer ? Or perhaps got internet connection in Italian jail.

Moze i bezazlene zivotinje povrediti.

  8. We used to pay €300-400 for short flights not that long ago.
And now that prices are sometimes at 10% of that to even UK or Scandinavia, we still have something to complain about.

I use LCCs. Actually I fly with them a lot. Do they sometimes frustrate me? Almost every time.
BUT, I than remember that I am flying from London to Belgrade for, sometimes, £35-40 RETURN and I shut up.

If you want your food quick and great flight experience, pay €700-800 for business class and you will feel like a king.

What this man did is idiotic.
He should be made an example of by giving him a maximum penalty for his offence. Plus I would fine him a HUGE amount of money to be paid to stewardess's family or, even better, towards her pension fund. Publish everything in in-flight magazines and blacklist him for flying for good few years.
