Aviation enthusiasts asked to clean planes

Thursday, April 16, 2015

The Museum of Aviation in Belgrade, which features a range of civil and military aircraft, and over 200.000 photographs and documents illustrating the rich history of Yugoslav commercial aviation, has called on enthusiasts to help them clean over 200 aircraft exhibited at the museum, including a former JAT Yugoslav Airlines Caravelle jet, last cleaned three years ago. The Museum explains that it has a range of issues with preserving and maintaining its exhibits due to a lack of funds. Located next to Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport, the museum was opened to the public in 1989 and has so far welcomed over one million visitors.

I've been to the museum once and I was really impressed. I would love to do this if I lived in the area.

I highly recommend a visit for anyone with a layover in BEG. It's a short walk from the terminal.
