Turkish Airlines incident in Sarajevo

Thursday, June 4, 2015

A Turkish Airlines Boeing 737-800 had two of its back tires blow out upon landing at Sarajevo Airport yesterday evening. None of the passengers on board were injured and the aircraft proceeded safely to the gate. No delays were reported at the airport as a result of the incident, although Turkish Airlines’ return service to Istanbul was cancelled. The jet in question is almost seventeen years old. At the same time, a Turkish Airlines jet en route from Istanbul to Prague made an emergency landing at Sofia Airport yesterday evening after the pilot reported smoke in the cockpit.
