Split plans airport rail link

NEWS FLASH

Split plans to commence work on its highly anticipated city rail project next month, which will eventually link its port, the largest in Croatia, with its airport. "Our goal is to connect the ferry port with the airport. We are aware that traffic has doubled in the past ten years. We are working on the project connecting the city to the airport and we hope to begin the design and realisation process in next few years. It will involve the construction of a seven to nine kilometre railway", Split's Deputy Mayor, Nino Vela, said. Split Airport is currently building its new passenger terminal which is scheduled to open this summer.
