Croatia Airlines deploys jet to Afghanistan

NEWS FLASH


Croatia Airlines is this morning operating a specially chartered flight to Mazar-i-Sharif in northern Afghanistan to pick up military personnel who participated in NATO’s Resolute Support Mission. The Airbus A320 jet, operating under flight numbers OU2704/2705 will be taking 105 members of the Croatian army to Zagreb from Afghanistan’s fourth largest city, as well as 26 soldiers from Montenegro, seven from Macedonia and two from Albania.

  2. The first contingent of croatian army flew from Zagreb to Kabul back in 2003, 17 years ago. The flight was operated by croatian company too, Air Adriatic, on MD-82, with technical stop in Baku.

      I doubt they would be flying full anyway, maybe 120 passengers and limited cargo. TK used to send B738 to Kabul from Istanbul so I am sure a half-full A320 can fly an additional hour and a half.

    140 passengers will be on the deck, full capacity of croatian a320 is 174 passengers, Mazar-Zagreb is about 6 hours of flight, it's plenty enough for this kind of aircraft..
