Qatar Airways to suspend Zagreb service

NEWS FLASH

Qatar Airways will temporarily suspend operations between Doha and Zagreb as a result of the coronavirus Covid-19 outbreak. Dear God, this is crazy...I mean, not just this info, all info about what is happening right now in the world, and also in our region. Belgrade is closed, Skopje is closed, Ljubljana is closed, Dubrovnik is closed...20 days ago we all were expecting new summer season, and look what is happening right now! Horrible!

I believe ZAG would probably shut down completely soon, that's the only logical thing with all this airlines reducing and canceling regular flights.

Lets hope that better times will come soon...Stay all safe guys!

      Emirates also?

Emirates postponed ZAG route until 1st of July...Instead of B777, Fly Dubai will fly with B737 until that date (possible to cancel depending on booking status/covid situation worldwide).

Anyone know why ZAG is still open?

Why is ZAG still open? Probably just a matter of days and open question who´s gonna move first: OU to stop operations or ZAG closing the doors...

I think the same. I believe airport authority is waiting for OU to suspend all flights, and OU is, of course, waiting for some political instruction to do it, so obviously will still fly continuing losing our money with, in the most cases, less than 10 pax per flight...horrible. if Austrian did it, if whole LH group did it, if LOT did it, if Air Baltic did it, if Air Serbia did it, all bigger "players" than OU, why, for God sake, OU still flies??

What worries me is that OU already received money from the state. On top of the losses they are making now they will need so so so much more.

They are probably open and handful of airlines is still flying - OU, EW, KL, QR to return Croats and foreigners home. According to officials no foreigners have entered Croatia in the last 24 hours.

I am an agent, I and I see the flights in GDS, and QR office has no information on cancellations?

Croatia is probably the hardest hit in the Balkans and keeping flights is not wise, at all!

      @13.02

I don't know how you can see the flights, let alone how QR office can have no infromation. You just need to go to Qatar Airways website and it will tell you the flights are cancelled.

From tomorrow for next 10 days QR215/216 is cancelled (you can check on QRs flight status page). On some days in next days even both flights will be cancelled. By April the airport will likely be closed.

On top of that Zagreb Airport has also removed the flights from its website starting tomorrow.

They still haven't implemented all the changes in GDS and that's why you are seeing them. They are literally changing 99% of their network. It takes some time. As for the office, if it's true they don't know it could be because they simply haven't been informed. A week ago when I called their Belgrade office they just told me "we don't know if the flights will go ahead, follow official information on the website".

You are seriously delusional if you think any foreign carrier will be left flying to Zagreb in 10 days. Pretty much every country in the world has closed its boarders to foreigners.

    9. I hope you all are able to fly home safe that is all I am going to say

The real truth is that the government did not allow Croatia Airlines to ground whole fleet and suspend flights. That is the only reason why OU still flies and probably will continue flying.

well, I would say, and judging by GDs and QR website, that it is 2nd daily cancelled from 1st of April, so might be a bit of a typo on 2 daily cancelled. Anyway, likely ZAG itself will close, but currently QR has one frequency eff 01st of April 'live'.

Both flights will be alternating in cancellation during next week. On some days there will be no flights at all. From April route will be definitely suspended. It will be reflected in GDS soon.
