S7 Airlines cancels planned Zagreb operations

NEWS FLASH

Russia’s S7 Airlines has cancelled plans to launch flights between Moscow’s Domodedovo Airport and Zagreb. Services were scheduled to commence yesterday. According to the “Croatia Aviation” portal, the airline said the planned one weekly service has been shelved due to low demand. Late last year, Azur Airlines also terminated its Moscow - Zagreb operations just weeks following its launch. Aeroflot continues to link the two capital cities with a daily rotation.

Russians were never much into Croatia and even during Communism times. Croatia is traditionally visited by Western Europeans, SE Asians, Canadians and Americans especially the coast.

Well, it is better to have richer tourists. Americans or Koreans stay longer and pay more. The average Russian is now poor and goes to cheaper countries such as Egypt or Tunis or Chalkidiki, etc

Russia has more millionaires than Croatia has inhabitants, what on Earth are you on about?

Those millionaires live in London and America. Do not trust what the media says. Also Russia is not Moscow and St. Petersburg (historically never was a Russian city to begin with). But, back to the subject. Zagreb already has enough flights to Russia. Time to focus and expand to the rest of EU capitals and cities as it is perfectly doing now.

Goodness that lengths some people go to in order to justify low demand. If you are a well run business you focus on all markets. If you are a poorly run business you adopt the stance you and for example Croatia Airlines have.

Saint Petersburg was historically never a Russian city? It was literally founded by Peter the Great who was a Russian tzar.
