NEWS FLASH
Italian regional carrier Air Dolomiti, which is wholly owned by Lufthansa, will take over some of Lufthasa's flights on the Munich - Ljubljana service this coming winter season. Starting on October 27, Air Dolomiti will operate on the route six out of ten times per week in November, three out of seven times per week in December, January and February, and six out of ten times per week in March 2026. All Air Dolomiti flights will be maintained by the 122-seat Embraer E195 aircraft. Tickets are now available for purchase through the airline's website. Changes remain possible.

DeleteCorrect, these are EN flights with LH codeshares, not a wetlease arrangement.
DeleteThat also means that members of *A programmes outside of Miles & More itself will be screwed out of mileage earning & benefits.
This is actually a very relevant question for all Star alliance (non LH) premium members. Unfortunately those flights will operate under Air Dolomiti flight number.

DeleteYes. They changed the flight number. But there is a complete mess in Amadeus, Cityline operated flights are still on behalf of LH, while Air Dolomiti operated flights have a new flight number. I assume they will migrate MUC-LJU route completely to EN and LJU will loose Star Alliance flight to MUC.

DeleteYes, as I said, complete mess. But I assume they didn't finish uploading the new flights in the system and gradually LH flights will be gone.

Pax capacity of Embraer E195 will be way bigger than the current one. Am I right?

ReplyDeleteIt has been the same with Milan flights, except there it's an even bigger mess. Flights to/from MXP are EN wetleases operated for LH, whereas flights to/from LIN are native EN flights with LH codeshares.
DeleteWell at least those flights are operated from two different airports. Look at the mess in LJU. I will take 13.11. as an example for illustrative purposes. There are two flights on LJU-MUC route on that day. Both are marketed as Lufthansa flight. The first one is selling as LH1xxx , operated by Lufthansa Cityline. The second one is selling as LH5xxx, operated by Air Dolomiti. The first one is Star alliance flight and the second one is not. But do you think that average traveler is informed enough to understand that? I don't think so. Most people are not aware that LH1xxx are native flights and LH 5xxx are codeshares.

DeleteNo not at all? Air Dolomiti is taking over 6 of LH 10 weekly MUC flights as they are a part of Lufthansa Group. Absolutely zero percent chance they are starting Milan from LJU. How do you even come up with things like that?
DeleteConsidering there is Freciarossa from just across the border, and Linate flights from TRS, highly unlikely.
