NEWS FLASH

British Airways will be operating flights between London Gatwick and Dubrovnik into the winter season this year and will resume services in 2026 earlier than usual. During the upcoming winter season, which begins on October 26 and runs until March 28, British Airways will maintain two weekly flights, on Wednesdays and Sundays, until November 30. They will resume on March 2, on Mondays and Thursdays. The airline will deploy an Airbus A320 on the route during the winter period. British Airways joins a growing list of carriers extending their seasonal summer flights to Dubrovnik into the winter.

So basically, BA will only fly during winter to DBV.

There's ongoing assessment on the tourist streams in Europe in the very near future, taking into consideration the summers getting unbearable hotter in the sothern area while winters get milder all over continent. One of the most probable scenarios include more summer vacations at the north of continent and more travels to Mediterranean during rest of the year... I think this is something all of us will live to see.

The younger generations like going to the Mediterranean area for beach life, parties, on each corner bum bum and the hot life. Families are limited to kids vacation time and prefer for their kids beach life too.
I am heading to the 60s. My choice today is vacationing March until May and September until end of November and with a complete different focus: Good Food, Wine Tasting, visiting culture heritage, enjoying the medit. life style, visiting museums, concerts, enjoy the great architecture, hiking and my preferred temp range is 15-25C. I also dont like crowded areas. Of course people like me are a minority, still there are enough of us, that flight extensions such as now from BA are absolutely justified.

Let’s hope it works and it brings more airlines in DBV during winter season. Aegean, Vueling and Turkish all had intentions or have served year round DBV.
