Sarajevo Airport handles millionth passenger

Sarajevo Airport welcomed its millionth passenger of the year today July 8, well ahead of last year when the milestone was achieved on August 1. In June alone, the airport handled 230.771 travellers, representing an increase of 14% on the same month last year. During the first half of the year, Sarajevo Airport processed 947.744 travellers, representing an improvement of 31.1% on the same period in 2024, or an additional 224.763 passengers. Growth is set to continue into July with current scheduled capacity up 15.9% compared to last year.

      Another reason why it's so important that they introduced more Western European routes with Ryanair. Judging by the passenger numbers, it is finally starting to look more balanced (East vs. West traffic). I think those numbers will continue to grow even further once they add flights to other markets like Spain, Italy and Greece.

      You mean when they add more flights to those markets as they're flying to 2 destinations each in Italy and Greece (although Athens is a charter) and to Girona. Ryanair will surely announce more routes, hopefully the management will do what they can to prepare the ground for a potential base
