NEWS FLASH
Spanish low cost carrier Vueling inaugurated seasonal flights between Barcelona and Tivat yesterday. It marks the first time the coastal city has been linked with a schedule air service to Spain and the country’s only scheduled nonstop flights to Spain this summer. The service will be maintained three times per week. The airport operator has noted it is working on securing a service between Podgorica and a destination in Spain as well.
Commenting on the new route, Jordi Pla Pintre, Director of Network Strategy and Long-Term Planning at Vueling, said, “The inaugural flight from Barcelona to Tivat marks an exciting milestone for our company. This new direct connection between the Mediterranean and the Adriatic brings two cultures even closer together, allowing local residents to reach a vibrant city like Barcelona with just a short flight". The CEO of operator Airports of Montenegro, Roko Tolić, added, “As of today, Tivat is connected for the first time with Spain through a regular seasonal air service. This is a significant step forward for Montenegro’s air connectivity, as we have opened the doors to a new market. The Tivat - Barcelona route is particularly important for positioning Montenegro as an emerging tourist destination, and we are proud to be contributing to that process”.
Congratulations to Tivat!
