Air Serbia names third jet

Monday, June 22, 2015

Air Serbia has named its third aircraft, an Airbus A319, after former Serbian football player Dejan Stanković. The accolade is part of Air Serbia's "Living Legends" program, which pays tribute to a number of Serbia's renowned nationals whose accomplishments are inspirational and align with the airline's brand. Stanković played 103 matches for the national team and led a successful club career in both Lazio and Inter. The announcement was made at the international Expo 2015 in Milan at the shared Etihad - Alitalia pavilion. Air Serbia previously named one of its A319s after world number one tennis player Novak Djoković, while one of its A320s has been named after former basketball player and NBA legend Vlade Divac.

Novak got his name because he borrowed money to the government for the lease of the first aircraft.
Divac got his by paying two million Euros.

What did Stankovic pay? I guess that's why they kept on introducing living legends. Dead people can't fund them.

You do realise that even Vucic admitted that Novak gave the money which is why he got his name on APC.

If "pay for name" was true, planes would be named after a highest bidder like Miroslav Miskovic, Miki Kostic etc. But they are not, so your theory is wrong.

Yes because the government would allow for Miskovic to have his name on one of 'their' precious aircraft.
Use your brain, it's there for a reason.

All the 3 mentioned individuals are great sportsman including Novak which in MY opinion is the greatest from whole the region, but do we really only have sports people to "promote"? Sport is part of society and that is fine, but are there not any other honorary professions? Is this "zive legende"or "zivi sportisti"?
