Record year for Tuzla Airport

Tuesday, January 19, 2016

Tuzla Airport has registered its busiest year on record since opening its doors for commercial use in 2008. In 2015, the airport handled 259.074 passengers, an increase of 71.2% compared to the year before. The growth was fuelled exclusively by budget airline Wizz Air, which opened a base in Tuzla in June and now maintains a network of eight destinations. The low cost carrier handled 268.748 passengers on its flight to/from the Bosnian city. The figure is higher than that of the airport since a number of Wizz Air flights were diverted away from Tuzla due to poor visibility. Overall, the airline's numbers grew 75% from its Tuzla hub on the year before.
