Tuesday, September 29, 2015

Slovenia and the United Arab Emirates have signed an Economic Cooperation Agreement in a number of areas last week, including aviation. The UAE's Economy Minister, Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri. said the bilateral cooperation in civil aviation will help boost ties between the two countries, noting that the UAE is home to four major airlines, including Etihad Airways and Emirates. The agreement, which consists of 24 articles and two annexes, enables the two countries to exercise fifth freedom rights and specifies the general legal framework for cooperation between the two countries. "The United Arab Emirates can boast a strong investment fund, and, in the past, we made a lot of investments in nearby countries, such as Serbia and Montenegro", Al Mansouri said. He added, "Slovenia offers great potential which we could utilise". Slovenia is in the process of selling a 91.6% stake in its national carrier Adria Airways.

There are some rumors in the "aviation circles" in slovenia that flydubai plans to fly (or relocate from ZAG) to LJU. I hope we will see soon enough if there is some truth in those rumors
