Air Serbia and Express Airways at ITB

Wednesday, March 9, 2016

Air Serbia and Express Airways are the latest two carriers from the region to confirm their participation at the International Tourism Fair in Berlin, which began today and runs until March 13. Air Serbia will exhibit at the three-level Etihad Airways Partners stand (number 110, hall 25) with videos promoting its travel offering and a booth where visitors will be able to meet Air Serbia representatives and cabin crew. In a statement, the airline's CEO, Dane Kondić, said, "This year, during which we will launch long-haul flights to the United States, is a very exciting one for Air Serbia and ITB Berlin is a great opportunity to showcase these plans to a global audience”. In addition, the Maribor-based Express Airways, which will launch flights from the Slovenian city to Dusseldorf and Split in April and May respectively, will be present at the fair (stand 202, hall 1.2). Furthermore, Montenegro Airlines will also attend as part of the Montenegro Tourism Association stand (number 221, hall 1.2). Previously, both Adria Airways and Croatia Airlines announced their participation. The organisers expect up to 100.000 visitors to attend the fair, which will have close to 10.000 exhibitors from over 180 countries.

Why Air Serbia didn't use this to promote Kiev? When are they gonna make it official?

I assume they have troubles with fleet. I assume they have fleet shortage for reliable introduction of just one route with the existing fleet and need more routes so they can add more aircraft being budget viable.

      A) They are introducing 4 destinations
      B) They are getting an Adria CRJ
      C) These flights launch in June and they have a thing about announcing routes a month before they start (remember Zagreb, Beirut etc)

    3. What is the story with Adria CRJ? I read about some ex-yu debts or something. Can anyone give us more details?

      Thanks!

They want to make it ala Qatar, announcing a bunch of routes at the same time to make it more impressive.
