Montenegro Airlines will make minor adjustments to its network this winter season, which begins tomorrow, October 30. Although wide-ranging changes were expected to take place this winter with the signing of a major codeshare agreement with Air Serbia, the deal is yet to be finalised and implemented. It has been suggested that under the agreement, Montenegro Airlines would operate an additional daily flight to Belgrade, however, as it currently stands, the carrier will be maintaining fewer services to the Serbian capital from Podgorica. Furthermore, the airline will reduce one weekly flight from Tivat to Moscow for a total of three per week.

In a statement to EX-YU Aviation News, Montenegro Airlines said operations during the 2016/17 winter season will be maintained with four aircraft. The carrier has four Embraer jets in its fleet and a further two operational Fokker 100s. According to its preliminary schedule, a mix of both types will be used throughout the winter, with 80% of all flights to be operated by the Embraer jets. "Depending on demand on certain routes, the aircraft are allocated to each destination based on a weekly review", the company said. The airline will continue to offer the same numbers of frequencies on services from Podgorica to Frankfurt, Ljubljana, Paris, Rome, Vienna and Zurich.

The 2016/17 winter season runs until March 25, 2017. Please note that the changes listed below are preliminary and based on current availability in the Global Distribution System (GDS). Furthermore, the table below displays the peak weekly frequency on each route during the course of the winter season. Adria Airways, Air Serbia and Croatia Airlines have all made adjustment to their winter networks as well and these modifications can be viewed by clicking on the provided links.

This is such an underwhelming network. If an lcc based a plane in Podgorica they would be wiped out in a matter of months.

Next year Montenegro will fly without its national carrier!! Croats must wake up or they will suffer teh same fate as people in Mac., soon Montenegro, Kosovo and so on.

Wizz Air is a Hungarian company so it's a bit different but Macedonia will be in a big problems soon because W6 will only be there as long as subsidies are in place- better to subsidize a local carrier than.

This topic has been covered many times. Most W6 routes from SKP have been operating without subsidies for a long time. Wizz is profitable in SKP and they aren't going anywhere.

      Is SKP profitable with Wizz?
BUD apparently making significant losses. Wizz seems to be profitable there at the expense of Hungarian taxpayers.

It doesnt matter if SKP is profitable. It is not a public company anymore, therefore the losses would not be covered by the taxpayers.

Wizz business model is to beggar airports to which they fly. Sort of parasitism.
It matters if the major airport of your capital is not profitable. After years of losses they will run out of money for basic maintenance. BUD is far behind from where it would be if Malev was around.

MA had 1.452 flights on the routes from Podgorica and Tivat to Belgrade and back, which makes it first on a list of nine most common foreign airline companies at Belgrade airport, in front of German company Lufthansa and Hungarian Low-cost company Wizz Air”, Ms Pejović said.

I am not sure about Zagreb but on FRA-BEG they send a mix of A319/320 while MUC-BEG gets the Embraer. This summer, for the first time in years, we got the A320 as well.
