NEWS FLASH

Bosnia and Herzegovina anticipates taking full control of its airspace by the end of 2019. “This is our strategic goal. It depends a lot on the training of air traffic controllers, but we believe that we will have a sufficient number of them by the second half of 2019, in order to provide services for Bosnia and Herzegovina's entire airspace", the General Manager of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Air Navigation Services Agency (BHANSA), Davorin Primorac, said. The regulator took control of the country's lower airspace (up to 32.000 feet) at the end of 2014, however, its upper airspace is still controlled by Serbia and Croatia. “I can say that BHANSA has grown into a very respectable agency, which has been recognised on a European level. This is a huge success for a country that had no capacity to control and ovrsee its air traffic until recently”, Mr Primorac added. There were a total of 337.424 flight movements in Bosnia and Herzegovina's airspace during the January - November period, an increase of 12.6% on 2016.
