NEWS FLASH

Adria Airways will discontinue its seasonal flights between Ljubljana and Brač ahead of schedule, on September 1. Services were initially planned to run until the end of the summer season in late October. The Slovenian carrier previously reduced frequencies on the route from two to one per week. The airline will operate its last flight to Brač with the fifty-seat Saab 2000 turboprop aircraft. Its other seasonal service to Dubrovnik will continue to run as planned until October 26. Both routes were launched this April.

Brač is simply to close and most of the people go there by car! Everyone knew this would happen with brač

Yes for a point to point airline like Adria it was obvious this would happen relying on P2P demand.. Lufthansa as a network airline would have feeded it properly.

I think it was said on here before, if Adria wants to develop into a transfer airline with a strong LJU hub, then they need to invest heavily into marketing. No-one in their Central-, West- and Northern-European destinations know that JP is now serving airports in Croatia, no promotions for Brac for example. Makes you think what amateurs are running this airline. Usually if you start any new route you will have to promote it heavily for the first few years...

A vidimo kako PRG i WAW super idu. Stalno se spajaju letovi. Ne vjerujem da OTP i SOF rade bolje

@ Admin: Adria to end BRac flights means they are suspending it and not coming back. The text though states that they will shorten the seasonal service to the main season only. so What now- cancel or shorten the period?

They are not on sale next summer. The route has obviously failed. They cut it to one per week at the height of summer.

Assuming they were deploying the CR7 (70 seater) this brings a LF of 50-60%

And 11/08/2018 LF stood at 30-45% which is not good.

It seems Adria is NOT ending Brac flights - they are just shortening this 2018 summer season to BWK.

If you check online on their website, BWK is bookable for summer 2019 already!

If you check the rest of the new destinations, you will see that they are bookable too.
Lets face the truth, this route didn't work well for JP unfortunately.
Remember the reduction from 2 to 1 and it was initially planned 1 weekly until October end. I think they will focus on more profitable routes instead.
When Nemjee reads our comments he might share some figures but we still can't compare the new destinations because they were launched a couple of months ago.
As far as this forum is concerned and based on its comments, the best performing new route was SOF but yet again, we see them deploying the Saab starting September, downsizing it from the current CR7 service.
JP changes all the time and we cannot keep track of its logic. PAD base, flights from PRN, but also lease to OS.
Don't get me wrong, it's cool to adapt to the market but you need a specific strategy.

JU for example has had many loses, changed its business model but at least continues to have a basic strategy: connecting the Balkans to Europe and USA via BEG.

Even YM has undergone structuring and now seem to be improving.

So either JP directly competes with JU and transforms LJU into a bigger hub or launch flights to unserved markets such as other Ukranian cities, Caucaus or other Russian cities.

But if they intended to end Brac for good, then why would they not take the Brac flights off their booking engine for next year, if they have already done so for October of this year. To me this doesn't make sense.

Now don't get me wrong I don't care if JP flies to BWK or not, but it appears there is no official statement concerning an infinite cancellation of the whole route.
