NEWS FLASH

Air Serbia will increase capacity on its double daily service between Belgrade and Vienna this summer season. The Serbian carrier will deploy its 144-seat Airbus A319 aircraft on the route three times per week, each Thursday and Sunday evening, as well as Friday morning, starting March 31. The remaining eleven weekly flights will continue to operate with the seventy-seat ATR72 turboprop aircraft. It comes after Austrian Airlines announced it would be introducing additional flights between the two cities, with the carrier to maintain the route twenty times per week. Austrian will run three flights per day throughout most of the week this summer. Overall, the Austrian and Serbian capitals will be linked with 34 weekly flights.

Ever since the demise of Niki, such a cool airline it was, this duopoly must come to an end.
How come you have so many flights with prices still being extremely expensive???
I do hope Laudamotion expand in the Balkans in 2021 as they are doubling their Airbus fleet.

The only way to end it is by launching BEG-BTS 4 weekly with an Airbus A321 just like SKP and SOF.

Response to Austrian. This is basically like JU adding another 3 weekly flights with ATR.

LOL, Austrian is dead in the water. LH gave up on them. They will never get climb back to the marketshare they once had in SEE.

      Lol.
Not serving small SEE cities anymore and being dead might but only might be two different things, wouldn't you think?

Austrian are far from dead, they are about to take delivery of new A320 neos and dispose of their q400's and upgrade those routes to their Embraer's.

Air Serbia had something similar back in 2014 or 2015. They deployed mix of A319 and B737, for some days, Monday morning, Thursday and Friday evening as I recall. All those flights were full, a lot of transferring passengers

I think you confused them with Jat. They had a few flights on the B733 I think around 2010.

Speaking of the 733, are they deploying it on some regional routes? It was operated to SOF on 26.01. Not very typical to send 737, no?

I think some Atrs are undergoing regular maintenance. Interesting thing about SOF is that it's one of the rare regional destinations that's served on the year-round basis without night flights. Bucharest has 5 night flights and 3 daytime flights.

It used to have 2 extra flights in the early years of 2013.With the lack of aircraft it was reduced to afternoon flights only. Pity. A route with much potential.
