NEWS FLASH

Turkish Airlines will increase capacity on its double daily flights between Istanbul and Ljubljana at the start of the 2020 summer season, which begins in late March. The carrier will deploy its 178-seat Airbus A321 aircraft on both its morning and evening service to the Slovenian capital throughout the summer. Furthermore, at this point, the airline has also scheduled a widebody 289-seat Airbus A330-300 aircraft on its evening Ljubljana flights on May 3 and October 23.

Great news. I wonder if it will be A321neo.

I expect a third daily to LJU from TK soon. Looks like IST will continue to be the busiest route in terms of passenger numbers from LJU for a long while.

TK has been experiencing issues with the A321neo fleet so let's hope they stick to the older ones.

I was scheduled on an A321NEO on IST-BEG a few days ago and we had to change planes after boarding due to a technical issue.

712 daily seats is serious! It will be tough for other carriers to compete with TK.

Mind you JU sent A319 quite a few times to LJU.

They fly now three daily on some days which is more than commendable.

The same can't be said for other regional airlines.

Interesting, good job! Btw, I was surprised that Iberia has upgraded from a320 to a321 on some days.

I am not. Parasite JP forced everyone to fly via LH to Spain for crazy prices so the market suffered. Now that IB is there the market has become so much more competitive.

Yeah, that Adria was a real bully. They were so strong and aggressive that no one even dared flying to LJU. From now on, life will be much nicer. Slovenes will be able to travel from LJU all around the world for 10 EUR.

      And then you wake up.

Nothing new really. Depending on daily demand, TK has been sending A321 to LJU for some time now. They will continue to do so in the future and of course in summer season we will see A321 even more often. TK has become really strong in LJU. And the best thing is they now have some serious competition, mainly AF,JU,SU but others as well, which means competitive ticket prices.

It is new. TK has A321 scheduled on all flights in the summer.

Imagine what would happen if Slovenia didn't request visas from the Turks, like Serbia.

They would probably send 2 daily 777-300 :D

Actually LJU might receive double A330 service one day if the trend continues like this. LJU is a destination full of surprises. Demand for IST is more than huge and can reach BEG levels very soon.

The demand from LJU to IST is already higher than it is to BEG.

If you mean LJU can reach BEG level from IST, then I will say no because Serbia doesn't require visa from Turks and there are 3 airlines flying with %90 loadfactors between the countries.

In other words, LJU will have the largest seat capacity offered from TK in the entire ex-Yu region!

How do you conclude that? TK has been flying double daily A321 to Belgrade for the past 2 summers. Also TK does not fly double daily to Ljubljana in winter.

Actually TK fly double daily to LJU tree times per week (1,5 and 6) in winter.
