NEWS FLASH

Air Serbia resumed commercial flights yesterday after just over two months with services to Zurich and Frankfurt. The first flight to Zurich had some thirty passengers on board while the inboud service was full. The carrier will be adding more routes to its network in the coming days and weeks. As previously reported, it is now mandatory to wear face masks on board Air Serbia aircraft for the entire duration of the flight. Additional protective equipment, such as gloves and visors, can be brought on board by passengers and will be permitted and welcomed. Service on all flights will be simplified with a focus on minimal contact. This will include the removal of the inflight magazine and brochures. Initially, there will be no catering on board, instead, only water will be served to prevent the frequent removal of masks, and thus reduce the risk of the virus being transmitted. Passengers older than 65 will now have complimentary priority check-in, while families checking in for flights will be able to do so using special counters, to make the process quicker and more efficient. Food will be served on the airline’s New York flights when they resume on June 6.

First flights after more than 2 months of isolation and in the middle of a worldwide pandemic. Wow, very surprising

I wonder how does wearing mask affect time to fit the quick-donning mask for pilots in case of decompression...

"Passengers older than 65 will now have complimentary priority check-in".
Does JU charge for priority check-in?

You can purchase the service to be checked in first and go through the fast track security lane. Many airlines offer that service for a charge. If you are in business class, of course it is included in your ticket.

Virus will get weaker when weather gets warmer; wearing masks is helping the spread; apoxia kicks in within 3 seconds and other scientifically wrong things I learned from comments...

Why don't you leave those things to actual experts and just celebrate the fact Air Serbia is restaring operations in a responsible way while going beyond and above IATA recommendations? Or you just can't stomach that fact...

My respect for cabin crew who will be exposed passengers wearing proper PPE.

I hope AirSerbia continues to provide appropriate protection.

And...to the previous comment about masks:

Exposure to viral load increases the chance and severity of illness. People continuously exposed to pathogen are at higher risk. Hence the difference between mine (Type IIR) mask as a passenger which is there to protect OTHERS and professional (N95) mask protecting user from inhaling.

Only experts around. In aviation and it looks like anything else.

I am at least glad I am, in my own field of medicine ;-)

Amazing that out of 5 flights out of Beg yesterday 4 had to be delayed (3 about an hour). I am sure again the "Euro air traffic congested" arguments will now start to defend as to why it happened. Shame on JU actually that they can't resolve this once and for all.

Shame on you for having no other argument against Air Serbia after two months of shutdown and a ton of new health measures implemented. As if process will not improve over time. As if those passengers that had to wait for TWO MONTHS for airport to reopen are now affected by about an HOUR of delay. Air Serbia will get backing to come back stronger and that's what's really bruising your ego, isn't it?

True, dude at 19:35 should calm down and give up. He was never able to do any damage to Air Serbia anyway.

Didn't Mr CEO say that they are ready to fly? Not enough time to work out the new airport procedures? Too many departing passengers?

Delays gappened because a various procedures changes not only from AS but Police and mainly airport regarding security checks and boarding sequence
Also first flight JU370 departed sharply on time but Klotten airport procedures of boarding caused delay from ZRH 20 minutes and this affected most probably other flights too....
So AS is not to blame

They could use for each flight an other aircraft, so the delays wouldnt be spread for all ZRH flights for 1 hour
