NEWS FLASH
LOT Polish Airlines has begun operating charters between Katowice and Mostar, providing a much-needed boost for the latter which has struggled to attract customers. The flights are being run on behalf of the Rego-Bis tour operator and cater for pilgrims visiting the Medjugorje sight. Local authorities in Mostar concluded a three-year agreement with the tour operator, which foresees LOT as the operating carrier for its entire duration. “It is a great honour that we have managed to finalise a contract. We have established an air link between Poland and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Flights will operate once per week”, the General Manager of Mostar Airport, Ivan Ljubić, said. The city’s Mayor, Mario Kordić, added, “I hope that from now Mostar Airport will be viewed positively and not as a bottomless pit”. Mostar Airport handled just 176 passengers during the first four months of the year.
Very good reception. Hoping to see this route a seasonal one as well and not charter.
ReplyDeleteA new era for OMO, bravo!
What does it mean 'regular' charters? Didn't see it in the local media either. It might be one per month, one per week, or triple weekly... Or whatever... This airport is bullshit, all because of their management, and their ultra small things should not be shown as something, but rather nothing - as it is nothing.
ReplyDeleteRegular charter means that the flight operates regularly with a schedule, it isn't a one off. And had you bothered to read the article it says the frequency. Also there was an article about these flights here when the contract was signed around 2 months ago.
DeleteOnly 176 passengers during the first quarter??? How do these people keep their jobs? They are getting paid for nothing. Only in Bosnia.
ReplyDeleteAnd in Slovenia, look at MBX and POW.
DeleteHDZ party is always complaining that a Croats are endangered in BiH. Only what is endangered here is common sense and logic. If you hire a people because of their ideology or because they are part of some Party you will have OMO.
DeleteDivided city, zero efforts to attract toirists
ReplyDeleteThe unfortunate thing is there is great potential and they can't get off their ass to collect tourism money because of petty political squabbles. Da komsiji crkne krava...
DeleteGood business for the Catholic church ;-)
ReplyDeleteThe Catholic church doesn't recognise Medjugorje,!
