Adria HQ buyer revealed

NNEWS FLASH

Adria Airways’ former head office near Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport, which was sold for 4.25 million euros in June, was purchased by Optotek, an optical and laser equipment maker for refractive surgery. The company plans to move its headquarters to the building in January. The facility was built by Adria Airways in 2009. It boasts 4.473 square meters of space over four floors that includes offices, classrooms, a warehouse, and parking lots. The land is owned by the state, with which Adria concluded an agreement to develop over a thirty-year period with the possibility of extending it for up to ninety years for an annual fee of around 50.000 euros. Adria Airways declared bankruptcy in September 2019. The sale of its assets will fund claims filed against the defunct carrier by hundreds of entities, including over forty airlines and airports.

Disappointment? That a private company is buying an unused HQ? That this company is doing so well that it must relocate to Adria's premises because it needs more space? Yes, that's quite sad. Slovenians really need to work on their positive outlook. It's one thing to be constructively critical, but quite another to be clinically depressed all the time and see everything so negatively.

Anyone know what happened with Adria brand? I know it has been sold, but what now?

The Arab investor that bought it is trying to sell it (unsuccessfully so far)

    4. I may be crazy but I do believe the Adria brand would be good solution for regional fleet for JU, or charters, instead of Aviolet, especially if bought for peanuts. However, the company is still too small for two brand development.

Slovenia couldnt even save its national airline operator. Obviously there is no need for air transport in Slovenia at all. Slovenians can use Zagreb or some other nearby airport.

I agree. Slovenian market is so small. I dont see any need for national airline. If bigger markets dont have it and function great ( Hungary ) why Slovenia needs it ? If it would be profitable someone would start something for sure.

Ever thought that there is no air traffic developement in Slovenia because we don't have national airline? Ever thought of that? On top of that Fraport owns LJU which only wants LH cartel domination.

Did you ever think why Slovenia does not have National Airline ? Obviously there was no income out of it. When there is an income there is no any reason to shut down something or i live in some wierd world when having airline company is just for fun ? Croatia Airlines would go down long time ago as well but they have income ( income coming from government but it is their income keeping them alive ). There must be an income for any company including Adria. If there is no income, there is no company. It is very simple but some people just cant realise that fantasying about flying from Ljubljana to hundred destination worldwide. Yeah right.

I really fantasy when I want LJU to be connected to basic European destinations. For fanboys everything else than being connected to LH cartel hubs if fantasying.

I just realized something... Vatican City could use a national airline!

For all of the people obsessed about ex-YU countries having "national" airlines, stop living in the past. The airline industry has changed and it will continue changing. There are very few countries that could sustain national airlines strictly with O&D demand. You must have transfer pax market share in order to sustain such capital intensive operations.

You're right! Praise Wizz, Ryanair and the LH cartel! The bright future of aviation!

In its best times Brnik not even managed 2 million passengers - with jp... In comparison to other airports it's nothing. Obviously there is no bigger demand... And there was no demand with jp even.
