NEWS FLASH

Qatar Airways is modifying its operations on its seasonal summer Sarajevo service. Starting today, flights will be operated with a triangle routing: Doha - Sarajevo - Sofia - Doha. As a result, the carrier will no longer run a nonstop service between Sarajevo and Doha. The airline is not selling tickets on the Sarajevo - Sofia sector. Passengers flying from Bosnia and Herzegovina’s capital to Doha will not disembark the aircraft in Sofia during the 45-minute stop. Qatar Airways will maintain its Sarajevo flights until September 10. All services are operated with the Airbus A320 aircraft.

Bosnia is on the rise as never before. SJJ airport looking more glamorous and prestigious, inside and out as each day pass by. Financial results breaking all records. Tuzla airport continues with its expansion and opening their horizons in order to bring in new airliners. Mostar airport is waking up slowly but surely.. Banja Luka airport is holding on. All these airports in very small country as Bosnia&Herzegovina.

Passengers numbers are not imperative of whether airport or airline is doing well. It’s a profit and loss account by the end of the year. This PNL will determine how sustainable is airport or an airline. When it comes to route terminations, it’s a pure economics. And remember not that long ago this Bosnia and Herzegovina was savaged by war. There is no magic wand to make things happen when we want and how we want. A Post war transitions may take a very long time to make things right politically and economically to bring overall prosperity.

Your propaganda does not change the fact that Sarajevo's passenger numbers are declining and so is it route network. No, we won't embrace "what we have" because we had much more a year ago. Stop making excuses.

It’s not an excuse. I wrote clearly embrace of what is available. Next year could be different for better or for worse. It’s beyond anyone’s control. But if you want to travel anywhere in the world, you can from SJJ. Connectivity is there with very fine and reliable airliners. It’s a matter of choice.

Sarajevo will have slightly less passengers (50-100k) than 2019 so what? It's still impressive given they had zero Wizz and Ryan this year. TZL and BNX will hit record years.
