NEWS FLASH

Swiss International Air Lines has continued to perform strongly on its flights between Zurich and Ljubljana, making it one of the fastest-growing carriers on the Slovenian market. The airline handled 54.907 passengers on its flights between the two cities, representing an increase of 32.9% on the same period last year, carrying an additional 13.611 travellers. The figure is also an 8.6% improvement on the pre-pandemic 2019 when the route was served by Adria Airways. As previously reported, Swiss will grow its operations to the Slovenian capital this coming winter season and plans to maintain double daily flights between the two, up from last winter’s twelve weekly.

Swiss is great. Their connecting flights via ZRH are insanely cheap, often much cheaper than flying directly from nearby airports. I've used them a lot this year. I hope they eventually upgrade to 3x daily.

Likewise. SWISS and Turkish are both excellent carriers stuck at 2 daily, hopefully they add a 3rd one next year

With 2 daily flights you can catch all connections you need. Nobody is "stuck", its just market reality.

LJU only needs 5 daily to FRA, nothing else.

Swiss will become even more important for LJU once they start some 3rd daily flights

    LJU-ZRH:
    LX 2279 ETD 0635h daily
    LX 2273 ETD 1040h 2-3 weekdays
    LX 2275 ETD 1450h daily
    LX 2277 ETD 1920h 2-3 weekdays

lets hope this happens as of SUTT 2026
Slovenians preferred transfer hub was and still is ZRH
But yep, also prices on LX to beyond ZRH destinations are often really affordable

They can apply to FRAPORT incentive scheme for increased frequencies and I am sure they will.

Even in 2020 when they planned to operate 4 weekly they upgraded some flights to A321. Also how dare you mention tourists in Slovenia. Don't you know all of them come with cars?
