NEWS FLASH

Leisure carrier TUI Airways will commence flights between London Gatwick and Ohrid in the summer of 2026. The service, which was previously operated in 2023, will be maintained seasonally, once per week on Wednesdays, from May 27 until September 9. Tickets can be purchased individually through the carrier’s website. Do note that flights begin in 2026, not in 2025. Further details can be found here.

Every single time when Ex-Yu publishes news about TUI or Jet2 launching a new route, people in the comments act like it's the most bizarre thing ever.

Even during their best year in 2019 they didnt have 10 flights per day. The only time they had was in 1993 when they were renovating the runway at skp airport and all flights were operated from OHD.

Doesnt matter if they had 10 flights per day , they had 12 destinations during 2019 year , which is amazing when we see the fact Ohrid is city of just 40k residents , and all that routes were pretty much good for our country. We expect to get new routes by the years coming and also renovated terminal building which is really needed.

A lake like Ohrid and the history of the surrounding area would attract thousands of tourists in any EU country.
