Skopje has introduced a silent airport concept as of last week, which aims to significantly reduce noise levels within its terminal by minimising non-essential announcements over the loud-speakers. Passengers are being urged to consult the flight information boards and airline notifications for the latest status of their flights. Furthermore, travellers can find the information on the airport’s website. Airports are not obliged to make announcements via speakers in order to guarantee that every single passenger receives the information relevant to them, however, it has proven efficient in the past. A number of airports have adopted the silent concept. Regionally, Belgrade and Zagreb airports recently introduced the policy as well.
Great job for SKP , listening the loud women voice on the speakers speaking 3 different languages is really boring. Getting e chargers,becoming silent airport , upgrading security system , increasing check in counters is just a part of modernazing the airport , keep the good job!

DeleteMercifully! Wonderful news, I always wondered if those voice announcement are really necessary. For the visually impaired passengers, they provide special service ofc, as in other airports.
DeleteThe priority I think for SKP should be improving the security screening (it is really a "tight neck") and making sure that it is compliant with EU standards- what is the necessity to go twice through security when departing SKP on a connecting flight via an EU airport, whereas the same is not required in the other direction. Actually even connecting via Belgrade incurs double security check (onwards to the EU). Macedonia's Ministry of Transport should assess the situation and act accordingly with the EU counterparts. If there are shortcomings in the security protocols, they should work hard and fast to address them and align with the EU/international standards.
Only then one could dream of direct flights to the USA- the airport security must be certified by the US to allow for direct flights.
