Greece’s flag carrier Aegean Airlines plans to upgrade its seasonal summer flights between Athens and Ljubljana to run on select months over the winter as well. The carrier plans to maintain two weekly flights between the two capitals during the 2025/26 winter season, which begins on October 26, up until January 2, 2026, after which no flights are planned until March 3, 2026. It will deploy its Airbus A320 aircraft on the route. Changes at this early stage remain possible. Aegean initially planned to operate winter flights between the two cities during the ongoing 2024/25 winter season, however, these did not materialise.
Lets hope it works this time.

DeleteYes anon 14:27 but the new neos that recently ( about 2 years ago ) came and gonna come don't have the engine issue . Mr Vasilakis said 10-12 airplanes have the problem.

The airline will continue to face challenges with Pratt & Whitney GTF engines in 2025, and Vassilakis anticipates these issues to persist until the end of 2027. This year, nine or ten aircraft are expected to be grounded, increasing to 13 or 14 in 2026.
Aegean Airlines will partly offset these issues with the deliveries of new jets. It is set to receive an average of five A320neo Family aircraft each year.
The airline is also getting compensation from the engine manufacturer, but Vassilakis said they are not enough to cover all costs related to groundings. Aegean Airlines lost EUR20 million (USD21.6 million) in 2024 due to prolonged aircraft leases and higher maintenance expenditure.
The Greek carrier does not plan to wet-lease aircraft in 2025 due to the high costs of such arrangements"

They offer great connections to the islands and the Middle East. They offer a great network to the Middle East they recently started Erbil in Iraq too. Hope these winter flights materialize.
