NEWS FLASH

Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport is in the process of installing self check-in kiosks to streamline passenger flow and reduce wait times at the check-in counters. Ten kiosks are currently being installed across from where Air Serbia’s new premium check-in area will be located. Prior to the airport’s redevelopment, it boasted both dedicated Air Serbia check-in kiosks, as well as limited self-check-in capabilities for  several other airlines.

Great addition!! But, unfortunately, many old check in counters stay unused. Hope we see new carriers to fill them!

Attracting new carriers and increased destinations and frequencies from existing carriers should be the no. 1 job of the airport management.
Unfortunately they don't do it very well.

True. I wonder what was the reason for Transavia delay, it would hardly be low demand. Their prices are great

It's low season, pretty sure most of these are in use during summer.

Other airports in southern Europe are booming. Ours is growing by low margins because it si dependent on two airlines who have issues of their own.

Back in 2023 airport grew much faster than most other airports. Combined 2023 and 2024 growth is still above most in the region.

If you bothered to read the text, you would see that self check in existed before and was removed during the reconstruction. But this also shows you never flew from BEG.

In any case, even if they don't exist I don't see a big loss. Most of the people do online check in, if they have luggage they have to wait anyway, so this is just for the ones who want to have their boarding passes printed out.

Anyway, I have one question. LCC charge for the airport check in. Do they charge for self check ins as well? Or they don't offer it at all?

Why would you even need this in today's age? Just check-in through the app use mobile boarding pass

I have used it many times to check in and then go straight to baggage drop-off if there is a queue at a regular check in desk.

But you can check in at home and then go to the drop off without even touching the self check in kiosk

BEG must be the only airport in Europe who does not have signage in the language the country uses...

Check-in in the mobile application of the specific air company is the most convenient way if you have only one bag.

There are still passengers without smartphones, travellers without internet access, cases where they have last minute changes or upgrades etc. All 3 largest EU LCCs still have check-in desks. Kiosks are not mandatory but are preferred option for some passengers.
