NEWS FLASH

Turkish Airlines will deploy its Airbus A350-900 aircraft on two occasions on its Istanbul – Skopje service this July. The carrier will operate its morning rotation on the route (TK1003/04) on both July 19 and July 27 with the 329-seat aircraft. The wide-body jet features 32 lie-flat seats in business class in a 1-2-1 configuration, as well as a further 297 seats in economy class in a 3-3-3 configuration. It represents a significant increase in capacity on the 178-seat A321 aircraft which was originally scheduled to operate the two rotations. Equipment swaps at this early stage remain possible.

Not such a big deal, the flight takes a bit over an hour. So basically not important on what you fly.

I am not surprised. SKP was always one of the best performers for TK in the region.

You can't be serious? Turkish has just two flights to Skopje today. Belgrade has 3 (plus Air Serbia codeshares). Zagreb has 3 (and also with bigger aircraft).

ZAG? ZAG was barely double daily until a month ago, there were times when it was even less than that. SKP is a much bigger market for them than ZAG.

Also SKP is the ONLY market in ex YU where they send widebodies so often.

Check the LF statistic for SKP and ZAG and you will see the difference. Doesnt matter they have 1 more flight to ZAG when its empty , all the flights to SKP are basicly full...

Turkish Airlines had a high average annual load factor 84.2% on its Zagreb service in 2024. Suggesting it is "empty" is rather inaccurate. Data for Istanbul - Skopje route for last year is still not available. Its average annual load factor on this route in 2023 was 76.4%.

Admin the 2024 data for SKP is higher then 2023 , as of unofficial result 2024 LF is between 85 and 88% , but lets wait and see the official percentage. Will be very happy if you share when its resdy. No doubt that both markets are important for TK, Croatia is double bigger country then Macedonia. Plus SKP could had wide body airplanes if the Covid did not hit the world ,and we all know that.

They send the A330 ocassionaly, this is not a surprise at all.

SKP is to Turkish what PRN is for Edelweiss from Zurich.

Of course. Edelweiss flies with A350 all summer to PRN while Turkish has 2 flights to Skopje the entire year with A350 because of large group booking on those two days
