PHOTOS: Croatia Airlines takes delivery of first A220-100

Croatia Airlines has today taken delivery of its first Airbus A220-100 aircraft. As reported over the weekend, the jet is nicknamed “Dubrovnik” and boasts 127 seats. Registered, 9A-CAO, It arrived in Zagreb this morning on a nonstop delivery flight from Montreal in Canada. Croatia Airlines becomes the fifth carrier globally to operate the aircraft type but the first with such a high-density cabin. The jet is on a financial lease from the Air Lease Corporation. It becomes the fifth delivered to the airline this year and the seventh A220 in its fleet overall as the carrier transitions to a single-type fleet by 2027. "Our first A220-100, which carries the name of Dubrovnik, will strengthen our flight network, provide both passengers and crew with a first-class flying experience and contribute to more sustainable operations. We thank our partners - Airbus and Air Lease Corporation - for their support in realising the complete renewal of our fleet, the biggest strategic project in the history of Croatia Airlines”, the company's CEO, Jasmin Bajić, said

    They dont need so much seats anyway. They could have introduced proper bussines class seats in 2-2 configuration, at least in A220s with this configuration it would be only one less seat if it was economy, not 2 like in other narrowbodies. Or at least have more legroom insted of 127 seats which will never be occupied all at once.
