NEWS FLASH
SAS Scandinavian Airlines will terminate its seasonal services from Copenhagen and Stockholm to Pristina.
The airline had initially intended to upgrade the Copenhagen route to year-round operations this winter but scrapped those plans last month. It has now decided not to return in the summer of 2026 either. SAS was scheduled to resume two weekly flights between the two cities on April 1, 2026, however, ticket sales have since been suspended. The carrier’s final Copenhagen - Pristina service is set to operate on October 22, 2025.
The SkyTeam member's seasonal flights between Stockholm and Pristina have also been removed from sale following a revision of its 2026 summer network last week. Weekly flights were due to resume on the route on June 19, 2026. This year, flights were maintained between June 20 and August 21.
About a time now they finnaly launch Ljubljana. They have perfect aircraft in Crj900 and E195 for three weekly flights from anywhere (Oslo, Stockholm and Copenhagen). Im pretty sure the demand is there.
ReplyDeleteMaybe with the new tender...
DeleteLJU makes so much sense especially with transfers to the US. KLM and AF are doing well in LJU so maybe that encourages SK to come as well?
DeleteAF reduced almost half frequencies they flew before, how they are "doing well" in LJU then?
DeleteThat's because they shifted transfers to KLM which is doing well in LJU.
DeleteHope to see them in BEG soon
ReplyDeleteNo way especially now when Wizz Air is pulling out of CPH-BEG.
DeleteEspecially because W6 is pulling out SAS could jump in.
DeleteIt is amazing that JU & W6 fly to CPH, GOT, OSL, ARN, NYO and SAS does not fly from any Scandinavian destination to BEG.
Obviously missed chance for them.
Yes but the number of frequencies to those Scandinavian destinations is very low. Even CPH was downgraded from A319 to E90.
Delete"Very low"
DeleteOSL 10 weekly
CPH daily (excluding Wizz)
ARN daily
GOT 4 weekly
MMX 3 weekly
NYO 3 weekly
Total weekly flights to Sweden 17 weekly
Thats a shame. Only GP left for Malmo, Gothenburg, Helski, Stockholm and Norwegian for Oslo and Helsinki. Not a big loss in terms of seats offered but SAS was good connectivity.
ReplyDeleteObviously yields and demand were not there so they are cutting this destination.
DeleteI find it strange that GP can make it work and SAS not. They were planing to make the flights year round and now they cancel all together.
DeleteNorwegian flies CPH-PRN seasonally (June-august, with a weekly rotation).
ReplyDeleteSad but PRN is completely dependent on reiseburo ticket mafia. All other airlines have failed there except maybe TK and OS. I expect all passengers to destinations other than the twenty destinations in Germany, Zurich, Geneva, Basel and Bern to be shifted to other airports like TIA and SKP. This will limit the growth potential of the airport massively.
ReplyDeleteNo worries Wizz is here from ARN, GOT, OSL and MMX to SKP
ReplyDeleteSkopje just need copenhagen with Wizz and Ohrid -Malme and its all set up
DeleteTRF, not OSL :)
