I flew last night on JU LCA BEG and flight was almost sold out, I would say with the mix of locals and transfer passengers. In my opinion, JU offers much better service from Wizz (which we took last year). The JU crew was awesome in both directions. I noticed most tourists in Ayia Napa were Serbs or British.

Even though W6's service is far from the best, since last year they started paying more attention to their schedule. They introduced several evening departures from Belgrade which are great.

How can evening departure from BEG be great for tourists going to Cyprus? They want morning departures.

Because you leave at night, after work, no need to take that day off from work.
Same with the flight back. You get to spend a whole day in Cyprus before flying back home to Serbia.

Quite the opposite, you pay extra for hotel night without being in Cyprus and when leaving you checkout at 12 and deal with suitcases whole day before night flight

Well, Wizz Air seems to be running full flights so it must work for their passengers.
You might pay for an extra night but you also get the next morning in Cyprus. I don't see it as such a disadvantage.

Hahaha no. That's just where the airport was opened in a rush following the illegal Turkish invasion of 1974.

Most people go to other places like Agia Napa, Limassol, Protaras etc.

Illegal or not, it actually freed Greece of fascist dictatorship.

And people use Larnaca airport for visiting Turkish part of Cyprus, too.

Larnaca is actually pretty decent citywise, probably the best place after Paphos. Limassol is quite boring outside the marina and has much less ancient sights.

Anon 11.14 what does the Greek regime have to do with Cyprus in 1974? At that time it was it was an independent state and Turkey was one of the guarantors of its independence.

Not many go to the north who visit the south. Those who go on holidays to the occupied area usually fly to Ercan via IST.

Larnaca is mostly overlooked by Cypriots. They invested millions into fixing it and it is still less developed and popular compared to other towns such as Agia Napa, Pafos or Limassol.

As for Limassol, marina is actually not where the fun is, it's more to the north in the old town. As for ancient sites, Limassol is literally where the ancient Amathus used to be found. You have a whole bunch of ruins next to the Amathus Hotel. Once you pass Limassol you have, in my opinion, the most beautiful ancient site in all Cyprus: Kourion.

Who hasn't been there I highly recommend it. Even to this day they host live events at their amphitheatre. According to Cypriots, Limassol is the party capital of the island and that's where most go out... not in Agia Napa.

Larnaca beats Ayia Napa and Limassol for me. It's much less crowded and crazy. Also, they're doing some renovations and very much investing in the waterfront, so it's gonna ve even better.
Also, I can't believe people willingly go to Nissi Beach, that's crazy.

Nissi Beach is gorgeous but there are just too many people. Just around the corner you have Macronissos which is not as crowded and still as good. That's where most of us locals go when heading to Agia Napa, same with Konnos.

Yes, they fixed Larnaca but unfortunately their coast isn't as good. That said, Mackensie Beach right next to the airport is enough to make you go to Larnaca.

What we are missing is PFO-BEG with Ryanair and the offer is complete.

Seasonal three weekly should work without a problem.

Well, JU didn't really expand in LCA this summer. I think they added just one extra weekly flight and they upgraded most flights to an A320.
Wizz Air on the other hand grew like crazy, operating up to 8 weekly flights with the A321(neo).

Even with all this extra capacity, flights were still full. I think at this point there are people from all around using these flights (transfers, Serbs, Croats, Romanians etc).

There is a reason Air Serbia flies to so many cities in Spain and Italy.
People prefer sun and warmth to the cloudy and cool weather of northern Europe.

I'm sad that Balkaners discoveres Cyprus, because it was amazing a few years back when the flights were super cheap. Lol
Anyway, it's great for the Cyprus, they offer much better value for money, and aren't overpriced as Greece or Montenegro or Croatia.

Cyprus became affordable the moment Wizz Air launched flights. I think that was in 2014.
Until then both Jat Airways and Air Serbia ripped people off.

I remember when Wizz Air launched those flights they used to sell one way tickets for as little as 1.700 RSD!
