NEWS FLASH

Air Serbia handled 42.697 passengers on its Belgrade - Madrid service during the first three quarters of the year, representing an increase of 16.5% on the same period in 2024. The average cabin load factor on the route across the nine-month period stood at 82.3%. As of October 28, Wizz Air has launched a three-weekly service between the two capitals, marking the first time Air Serbia has faced direct competition on the Madrid route since it introduced flights to the Spanish capital in 2019.

I went to Nice recently with Wizz and back with Air Serbia. Wizz plane was almost new Aribus, clean and tidy, crew was nice, smiling all the time. Food that I bought was very nice. With Air Serbia, very old Airbus, state of Recaro seat covers is really sad, carpets are dirty, crew was ok but not very happy and smiling just occasionally. I didn’t bought any food as I had dinner at the airport before the flight. The price was more or less the same for bith airlines. It’s good that we will have more choices for Madrid, it will also help reducing the price as well.

Air Serbia really needs urgently to do something with their cabins.
Carpets are worn out, seats show that they have seen good load factors and almost every airplane is unique there isn't a hard product signature.

Any bird needs to be maintained....
New one's would be great, but deliveries are within years so something needs to be undertaken until their arrival.

It is not ordering new birds, it is leasing aircraft that are about 10 years old or older.
They all need to be standardized in a coherent cabin design that is then regularly maintained.

It's so obvious when you NEVER say that for routes out of Belgrade where Wizz has no direct competition. Explains the whole "Wizz good, Air Serbia bad" message you are trying to push. Another fail.

Air Serbia will put Air Baltic’s plane and crew on Heathrow route - that will allow much better service to London, although not every day. Generally, with Air Serbia is a real roulette with whom you will have a flight and which plane/setup/state you will get.

At LHR the airline pays very big fees if they land with classic A320, so the A220 is a very good decision if you haven't got a NEO in your fleet

Your comment makes no sense. That's like asking JU to start Luton.
However Wizz Air is a lowcost so it would make sense for their planes to be in a worse condition. JU is a legacy and people have higher expectations when flying with them.

It's true that JU A319 cabins are not in the best shape. I remember some years ago JU announced new cabins for their planes but in the end nothing came out of it. It was even reported on here.

At least JU repainted the three A319s they bought.

So competition and more choices are good for us.

Air Serbia route getting competition esp from Wizz is being applauded allegedly to benefit passenger choice. There is no asking or cheering for Wizz route out of Belgrade to get competition. That clearly shows motives of those who post those comments. More choices for passengers is just a thin veil to cover criticism of Air Serbia, but never to criticize Wizz. But there is a plot twist ahead: Wizz financial situation is turning from bad to worse and they might not be around in a couple of years, so your efforts to undermine Air Serbia and prop Wizzair are likely to be futile.

Tell us please, which route would you like to see Wizz Air get competition from Air Serbia? Also please be realistic as you can't expect JU to launch FMM, EIN etc.

However, destinations such as MAD or LIS already have a high number of LCCs so it makes sense for JU to be challenged there. After all, competition lowers the average fare and we all profit from that.

I remember how 'wonderful' it was to fly on BEG-LCA before Wizz Air introduced their own flights. They forced JU to become more competitive.

Nemnjee you already know Air Serbia competes directly against Wizz on some routes. Besides, where did I specify only Air Serbia as a potential competitor? Again, issue is with cheering for Air Serbia to get competition, NEVER for Wizz to get competition. Repeating for the 3rd time shows some people can't handle this fact.

As for your Larnaca route, JU BEG-LCA was indeed wonderful compared to times when there was no direct service between the two. Remember that?

Unless of course they offered them substantial subventions to fly there first.

JU was affraid of putting more frequency to MAD for many years, since they introduced this flight..Even up to last winter, they had only 2 flights weekly during some weeks in January and February, although they mostly had 3....Which was still far from enough , since I travel from MAD frequently, I very much know how planes are always packed..Besides that, they made wrong scheduling for this winter, they had it wrong for last one as well, but this summer schedule they finally added flight on Friday, which was great, and always top full..Now they cut Friday again, and added Thursday..They have to realize that there are many business travelers especially from Madrid, since that route is not that touristy, and that flight on Friday was extremly necessary, because now we only have 1 flight on Friday from Spain, evening from Barcelona, and that's it..On Thursday, we have Malaga, Barcelona, Valencia and Madridfrom AS..When you add Wizz, who also flys on Thursday from MAD and Alicante, that's a lot of flights, and on Friday only 1 city- Barcelona with 1 Wizz in the evening, and 1 AS in the evening...But only 1 city out of entire Spain...Very very bad schedule and planning towards business travelers..
