NEWS FLASH
KLM is introducing a second daily service between Amsterdam and Ljubljana during the 2026 summer season. The carrier, which only launched flights to the Slovenian capital in late March of this year, will add a second daily service on the route from Sunday March 29. The airline will now offer both morning and evening departures to Ljubljana, with the evening service overnighting at Jože Pučnik Airport before operating its return flight early the following morning.

perfect! hope Transavia will be also back in summer :)
ReplyDeleteHighly unlikely if KLM is doubling frequencies.
Deleteyes but 150€ one way means LJ will loose many travellers to Amsterdam ... and they will again use Venice ...
DeleteFor goodness sake €150 is not expensive in the real world.
Deletesorry it is ... 300€ for Amsterdam is a lot. and i am talking about customers that used transavia in the past ... they will now search for other cheaper option ... cuz flights were under 100€ there and back, not one way ...
Delete150€ it is kinda expensive, you have to think about it. But with KLM it can be a reasonable price , but with any airline, 150€ it is expensive. That's why they're wishing Transavia to come back
Deleteguys ... 300€ is a lot for intra-eu flights ...
DeleteMaybe 300 eur is not so expensive for some people. But regardless of your view on what is expensive there are flights for 70 eur in Venice, Vienna etc. and I can guarantee you that many people rather choose that than paying 300 eur. And thats all that matters. Your opinion on how much 300 eur is wont convince anyone to choose LJU over Vienna if they prefer cheaper flights.
Delete300 EUR for a Europe return on a legacy airline isn't expensive at all. It would have been expensive before maybe 2020.
DeleteHow is this not expensive. Stop with nonsense. You can get flights from VCE - JFK for 350 haha lol.
Delete300 Euros for a flight of under two hours is expensive. I can see that during spring '26 Swiss are offering very competitive prices between LJ and Amsterdam. KLM's fares are clearly orientated at connecting passengers.
DeleteHow much for a RT with Swiss?
DeleteI agree 300€ is lot. But is not rare that KLM offers ticket. for like 120€ ir cheaper two way.
DeleteThis won’t greatly increase overall capacity in the summer compared to last year, if they keep flying with E190. Since we also had 4x per week with Transavia, last years both way weekly capacity was 2840 and this year it will be 2800.
ReplyDeleteYes but its about this morning flights which will be much more useful than Transavia flights with B737.
DeleteMakes sense, thanks
DeleteOn year base Amsterdam rout rised for 5000 seats if KLM fly woith E190, but I saw for some days they fly with E295. Thats means more then 5000 sits grown.
DeleteHopefully the loads will be good so they maybe increase the capacity to atleast E295 more often.
DeleteI just checked and most of the flights in July are on E295?
DeleteFantastic news! There are a lot of positive news for Ljubljana for next year. Besides Klm, Easyjet is launching Edinburgh and extending Manchester into summer, as well as Vueling to Barcelona. Also Wizz launching 4weekly flights to Podgorica and nore carriers increasing frequencies and capacity like Lufthansa, Finnair and Iberia. Hopefully we get another Easyjet destination as it was reported meanwhile those Pegasus flights seem unlikely to happen as there was no more reports about it. Fingers crossed for more!
ReplyDeleteThere will be more. We just need to wait a bit
DeleteYou know or are you guessing that there will be more?
DeleteIt's the guy that correctly called the new routes to LPA, EDI, MAN etc.
Delete"meanwhile those Pegasus flights seem unlikely to happen as there was no more reports about it. Fingers crossed for more!"
DeleteWhat is it about LJU fans that think when it is reported that the airport is negotiating with an airline flight have to be announced within 24 hours? They are in discussions and discussions sometimes take months. What is there more to report about them?
Yes but they said that the flights would start in January which means they would have to be scheduled by now and put up for sale at least i think so. Early January is month and a half away thats why.
DeleteThey announced Zagreb ob 8th December for 2nd January flights, so theres a 14 day window still
DeleteThat's how serious companies do the job.
ReplyDeleteKLM always doubles their capacity.
DeleteThis is amazing news but I would love if they would keep atleast a couple of Transavia flights so we would have cheaper flights to Amsterdam. Casual tourists will now again look for flights at neighbouring airports.
ReplyDeleteThat's how it is...never good enough 🤦🤦
DeleteBravo Fraport!
ReplyDeleteMakes a lot of sense - If LH can and TY in the south, KLM also can benefit from double daily.
ReplyDeleteI am wondering why they are not seeing the same opportunity in SKP.
Because they have data we don't that probably hints at SKP either not having demand or high enough yields
DeleteLatter usually being the issue
Because the fact remains that Skopje is not a particularly wealthy place, with limited premium traffic which is a core element of KLM's connecting traffic. But as an expanding, emerging market once the yields are sufficient the city might well be a possibility for KLM, although it would be one of KLM Cityhopper's longer rotations. Baring in mind that KLM do not even serve Sofia with their own aircraft (rather via FB) it seems they are little cautious in the wider region.
DeleteGreat. Greetings from Zagreb to neighbouring Ljubljana.
ReplyDeleteSo now we will have Frankfurt and Amsterdam as early morning in summer. Hopefully Zurich, Munich and Paris will be also back as early morning. Also, how come AirSerbia is not offering early morning like from Skopje?
ReplyDeleteTurkish is also every morning
Deletei mean early morning 6 - 7
DeleteAny chance Brussels Airlines also goes double daily?
ReplyDeleteWith just A320 family fleet probably no. But out of current LJU flights this one would be the most logical with overnight stay in LJU.
Deletei think there is more chance WIZZ bringing back Charleroi ...
DeleteBrussels Airlines actually could be a good alternative to Amsterdam if they offered 10-11 weekly flights in my opinion.
DeleteAlthough Brussels Airlines offers nothing in the way of global connectivity which would be required for double daily.
DeleteYes they do, to mama Africa
DeleteAlthough the level to traffic between exyu and west africa cannot be large
DeleteLJU is taking a big step forward in 2025 and 2026, making its offerings increasingly attractive. Above all, this will further reduce its dependence on the LH Group and Star Alliance, creating more opportunities. This is particularly true given that KL has a good network in Latin America and parts of the Caribbean. With everything that is planned for the 2026 summer flight schedule, things are looking pretty good for LJU given the size of its catchment area. For 2027, I hope that IB will continue to increase its flight offer and fly the entire summer schedule to LJU, so LJU will hve a real choice between Star Alliance, Oneworld and Skyteam plus LCCs and some others such as for example JU.
ReplyDeleteLet's hope JU comes to senses and start overtnight flights to LJU too... desperately need to catch that 7am wave
ReplyDeleteyes, that would be great, depart from Ljubljana at 5 with E195 ...
DeleteBravo LJU! I hope we will see KLM one day in SKP, too 😊
ReplyDeleteLJU gets KLM to AMS twice daily. How come that SJJ can't get it twice weekly?
ReplyDeleteVery different markets. Also Amsterdam is very congested which means airlines select for maximum profitability.
DeleteGreat! Now, if AF goes double daily, we're golden.
ReplyDelete700+ EUR return on a morning departure and evening return...crazy!
ReplyDeleteOne can see prices much less than that. But these flights are designed for transfers as much as p2p.
DeleteChecked again this morning, down to 300+ EUR and equipment change from E75 for the overnight flight to E90. I guess they are still sorting the schdule.
DeleteLJU 2 AMS 6:00, AMS 2 LJU 21:00
ReplyDeleteMakes sense. I flew to LCY via AMS on a business trip last week, and both my flights (LJU–AMS on Tuesday and AMS–LJU on Friday) were completely full, including business class.
