NEWS FLASH

Low cost carrier easyJet will increase frequencies on several routes to markets in the former Yugoslavia during peak-season operations in July and August compared to its initial plan.

Ljubljana will see the introduction of one additional weekly flight from London Gatwick, bringing the total to eight weekly services, with the extra departure scheduled on Saturdays. easyJet will also increase frequencies in Pristina. During July and August, flights from Berlin will rise from the initially planned four weekly to five weekly, with an additional Wednesday service. Similarly, the low cost carrier will add one extra weekly flight from both Berlin and Manchester to Tivat, bringing frequencies to four and three weekly services respectively. The Berlin increase will be in place in September and October, while the Manchester growth is scheduled for June, September and October.

Is this the first time Easyjet is doing a double daily flight to a destination in Slovenia? Or did they do it anytime before covid?

but they were flying to Gatwick and Stansted ... in total in summer 2019 there were 4 flights to Gatwick, 10 flights to Stansted, 4 times Luton and 2 times LHR. So 20 weekly flights. This year we will have 18? flights in summer right?

Makes sense, in the last two weeks of march most of the flights to LJU had only a few seats empty. I wonder how the route to Edinburgh is performing, the first flight was today!

From what I see, even Manchester is doing great in the summer. And since they extended it to winter 2027, i guess its doing well enough

Thanks #ediguy, your prophecy was finally fulfilled in full haha. From what I see most of the flights in April already have >80% seats booked. Interesting how it is doing even better than Manchester, considering the difference in population.

@10.53, yes, definitely. In the past few weeks I think three flights (one leg of them) were sold out or had only a few seats remaining. The route is definitely gonna stick, hopefully it proves sustainable in the winter as well in the long term.

Just checked one way prices for LJU-MAN tickets in August and almost all are over 250punds (300€), so the flights are surely very full...I think even EDI would work as 2x weekly in winter because a lot of Slovenian students do study there

For the massive growth the airport is experiencing without having a national carrier.
