Croatia Airlines took delivery of its ninth Airbus A220 this morning, registered 9A-CAR and named Ṧibenik, marking the addition of the airline’s seventh A220-300, complemented by a further two A220-100s. As previously reported, the carrier is scheduled to receive a further five A220s by the end of this year, with the final aircraft expected to join the fleet in 2027.

9A-CAR arrived in Zagreb earlier today and is expected to enter commercial service as soon as this afternoon, operating the Zagreb - Zurich route. Its rapid deployment comes as the airline faces a fleet shortage, with several aircraft currently out of service. As a result, Croatia Airlines has been forced to cancel a number of flights in recent days and make several last-minute aircraft substitutions across its network.
