Air Serbia inaugurated flights between Belgrade and Seville this afternoon, connecting the two cities with a scheduled air service for the first time. The new two weekly rotation becomes Air Serbia’s eighth route to Spain, and its ninth new destination launched this year. Spain has emerged as one of Serbia’s fastest-growing outbound aviation markets this year, with Air Serbia handling 179.066 passengers on its Spanish routes between January and August.

Commenting on the new service, the carrier’s CEO, Jiri Marek, said, "By introducing a direct service to Seville, we continue to boost Air Serbia’s presence in the Spanish market while offering passengers even more opportunities for travel throughout the year. Following Tenerife, which we recently added to our network, we are now directly connecting Belgrade with Andalusia, one of Spain’s most visited and culturally recognizable regions. Seville is an attractive destination both for short city breaks and as a starting point for exploring the south of the country".

ReplyDeleteHaving this many routes to Spain and so few to Romania/Bulgaria is mind-boggling.
ReplyDeleteProbably more attractive for tourists but also Serbian, Bosnian or Croatian working in Spain.
DeleteBEG has a good catchment area encompassing eastern Bosnian and Slavonia.
@10:01 point to point travel between Romania and Serbia is limited and their airports are very well connected with Spain. Hell until this year one couldnt even get to Timisoara by bus.

DeleteI mean Spain is massivly more popular destionation than Bulgaria/Romania. Tho I agree JU would do great with connections to Cluj, Iasi and even maybe Chisinau.
DeleteIt’s about Romania and Bulgaria having huge diaspora in Spain but I think they’re well connected by LCC.

ReplyDeleteMadrid should become daily next summer and Malaga and Valencia could get another weekly flight added.
No doubt it will happen. And hopefully we see Ibiza and Bilbao, missing gems in collection
