Currently, Japan’s JAL codeshares on Qatar Airways’ service between Doha and Belgrade, while ANA has its codes on Lufthansa flights from Munich and Austrian Airlines’ service from Vienna to the Serbian capital. ANA will further expand its codeshare connectivity during the 2027 summer season by adding its codes onto Lufthansa’s Frankfurt - Belgrade service.

I do not think Japan is realistic at this moment.
ReplyDeleteMaybe, only maybe during summer months in couple of years.
JU's A330 is wouldn't be a competative aircraft. I think Tokyo would require them to get a refereshed longhaul fleet.
DeleteExactly! A339 would be a good choice.
DeleteWasn't Vucko who during a visit to Japan promised that JU would launch NRT soon or something?
ReplyDeleteThat was some years ago.
JU has said it is part of its long haul plans but not realistic in the near future.
DeleteJU says the same thing about every long haul destination it is asked about.
Delete^ No it has not said the same thing. It explicitly said that Seoul and Tokyo are part of long term long haul plans several times.
DeleteThat was two years ago! 🤣

^ well that is now all part of the tradition.
DeleteThe comment section of that story gave me a good laugh, so many optimistic people!
DeleteJapan? I thought they were going to do a codeshare with Uganda Airlines and start flights to Entebbe?
ReplyDeleteNo, they said looking at Miami, and long-term possibly Seoul and Tokyo.
