Croatia Airlines CEO Jasmin Bajić has submitted his resignation for health reasons and will retire. Mr Bajić will step down on December 5, with new management to be appointed within a month.
Mr Bajić has led Croatia Airlines since 2017 and joined the carrier in January 1995. Before becoming CEO, he held a series of management roles spanning corporate strategy, fleet and network planning, and finance. He was elected to the International Air Transport Association’s Board of Governors in 2024 for a three-year term.
The leadership change comes as Croatia Airlines completes its transition to an all-Airbus A220 fleet. The carrier reported a net loss of 64.7 million euros for the first nine months of 2026, up from 20.9 million euros a year earlier, and warned of further pressure during the final quarter amid weaker seasonal demand and ongoing fleet renewal challenges.

Oh what a pity. He will be missed greatly i'm sure. 😉
ReplyDeleteMy guess is Slaven Zabo, current CCO will take over.
ReplyDeleteDo we know how the new CEO will be named? Realistically, is there any chance for an externally proven competent person to be appointed?
ReplyDeleteUnless they decide to appoint a foreigner (which I think they should do), the answer is very likely no. I'm not saying that there aren't any competent people for the role in Croatia, but knowing how things are in the Balkans in general, those people will not be taken into consideration.
DeleteCroatia, in the Balkans. How very dare you! 😛
DeleteFinally, 6 years too late...
ReplyDeleteIt's too early
DeleteGood riddance! Finally, step into right direction for OU.
ReplyDeleteNot if Slaven takes over - it will be the same. They need someone new from outside.
DeleteThey could ask Michael O'Leary to suggest someone.
DeleteFirst of all wish J Bajić a good health.
ReplyDeleteSomehow I doubt that the new CEO being either external or from the OU ranks would make miracles.
Financial result Improvement are mandatory but could they realistically being achieved without a total overhaul of OU strategy?
The new CEO will also be blocked for a few years with the brand underutilised fleet.
All the best to the successor.
Is his poor health been the reason for OU’s poor health all this time?
ReplyDeleteOr vice versa.
DeleteHe is completely incompetent BUT he might be aware of that, and so he might genuinely be stressed to the maximum.
DeletePozdrav iz Rijeke for CEO :D
ReplyDeleteHe gets my vote, although i think he might bang heads with 'the Party'.
DeletePIR would make OU great again. :)
DeleteI hope, that they will install a competent person instead of a kradeze servant.
Terrible news
ReplyDeleteNooooo, our lion and fighter. Hope Zabo and Misetic will keep fighting. They should add Babogredec as well.
ReplyDeleteMissing PIR comment or is he already in charge? 😜
ReplyDeleteHe's searching for someone new to blame as we speak
Delete^ people like you spring to mind.
Delete20.17
DeleteWhy are you so mean? Negative? Bad person very simply. It's not good for your health, you know...
Probably gets lifetime (of OU) staff travel and can enjoy those ambient cardboard boxes in C.
ReplyDeleteIt would be nice for Misetic to return. OU was in much better shape under his leadership.
ReplyDeleteMišetić DESTROYED OU and surrendered the market to Germans. He made OU shameful feeder and humiliated midget. He cut 50 % of services and funneled all to Minken and Vrankvurt. He placed his nephew for Training Manager, with ZERO qualifications for the position. He destroyed relations with Unions. He took percentage for each and every Q400 through double-leases; the first one from real lessor, the second one from company owned and controlled by his wife. He sponsored sport associations where millions and millions went to private pockets. Jasmin was there to continue his work. That's why the shape today is as it is. He is gravedigger of Croatia Airlines and croatian civil aviation, and not because of incompetence but because of greed, personal benefits, arrogance and political "protection". So please, no more BS with him being the best.
Delete+1000
DeleteHealth is more important than any company! All the best to Jasmin!
ReplyDeleteYeah, his health condition suddenly worsened after 100 mil loss for this year. Some people are really naive. And maybe just maybe, my comments contributed to his resignation, at least with half percent. If competent and independent professional come to his place, that would be proof that something really may be changed. Unfortunately, with Mišetić around the corner and still actually in charge and Mateša as head of supervisory board, I doubt something like that can happen. I do keep my fingers crossed for real changes but once again, very skeptical, and with a reason
DeleteThe health retirement excuse is a well known tactic.... We understand their language. It was long time due. Absolute catastophic performance. Such a small carrier with such high losses. If u add this up to a size of LH or UA, it would be billions of losses.... 😱🥴
DeleteNOOO! JASMIN! He will be missed by many. Truth be told, it's not an easy task navigating the shark-filled waters of the EU rules as a small carrier. I don't expect anyone else to do better unless they have close ties to the government. In Europe, without government/party connections you have no chance.
