Banja Luka awaits Adria
Adria Airways has delivered on its promise to begin scheduled flights to Bosnia and Herzegovina’s second largest city. Flights from the Slovenian capital, Ljubljana, to Banja Luka will commence on Wednesday, July 14. The 45 minute flight will be served four times per week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The airline will use its Bombardier CRJ200 aircraft, which can carry up to 48 passengers.

The start of the new service is good news for Banja Luka Airport which is not being served by any airline. Adria hopes to cash in on passengers which would use Ljubljana as a transit point for onward destinations. Most passengers from Banja Luka travel by car or bus to Belgrade or Sarajevo in order to catch their flights. It is unknown whether Adria’s service is being subsidised by the Government of the Republika Srpska, as was the case with previous airlines which once operated flights to Banja Luka.

All flight details can be found in the new route launches section on the right hand side.

"It is unknown if the flight is subsidized"

I'm sorry, but if these flights would not be paid for by the RS government, Adria would not even know that BNX has an airport..

Bravo to BNX, but I'm not sure about potential..

What about the prices, does anyone know?

    Pozz,
    Bo

same thing was with BXN - Belgrade.. There is no profit in Banjaluka and this line will crash very soon.
Banjaluka has 200.000 citisens, and 190.000 has no money to pay even for BNX - LJUB :P

I for one am happy for this. Banja Luka is the capital of the autonomous province of B&H and needs an airlink to at least some other city around, as that will facilitate foreign investment.
    Best of Luck to Adria!

Hmm...in the article it says that BNX is not served by any airline at the moment. Doesn't B&H operate BNX-ZRH flights?

The fares start from EUR 55 return for travel between 14JUL and 30SEP, with other fares starting from EUR 117 return. Taxes are just over EUR 111.

Hey EX-YU Administrator, most of the passengers from Banja Luka use Zagreb airport, not Belgrade and Sarajevo.
