More passengers at Zagreb Pleso, less for Croatia Airlines
Croatia’s main airport, Zagreb, has recorded its first big increase in 2010 compared to last year. In September, the airport handled 213.917 passengers, up from 198.593 in 2009. Therefore, the airport recorded an increase of 7.7%. So far this year, the airport welcomed 1.590.268 passengers, which is still down from last year. The airport is looking to surpass last year’s total of 2.062.242.

On the other hand, Croatia Airlines reported a lacklustre August. What was once the airline’s strongest month is no more. The Croatian carrier reported a passenger decrease of 8.2%. With an average load factor of 70.5% it was level with other major EX-YU carriers (with Adria Airways at 70.9% and Jat at 70.6%). However, the decrease in passenger numbers can be somewhat explained by a 9% cut in capacity and a 12% cut in the number of flights.

September results for all of Croatia’s airports will be published soon.

Well Jat had a sale like two years ago when you could buy tickets for as low as 99 euros. I remember I bought a ticket for 102 euros, where as usually it was 310!

Adria transported totally 127.365 PAX in September (scheduled and charters) with LF 69,39 (charter flts downgraded it).

Overall (Jan-Sep) JP carried 926.837 with LF 67,51.

LF on the LJU-BEG-LJU route is around 48% (Mar-Oct), while it is around 60% (Aug-Oct).

LJU-BEG-LJU is not doing that bad actually. I mean they have started the route with so many other airlines at the same time. In addition to that, their prices have not been that attractive

Will we actually see the 2009 figure passed at ZAG? They're already some 20k pax behind the same point last year...

OU needs to lift its game, and their future success depends on the new CEO being a visionary, or maintaining the status quo...
